Putting on the Line, Every Time

Is there anything worse than reading a putt perfectly, confidently executing the perfect tap, and then watching the ball roll nowhere near the line you chose?

The reason for this is, when you hit the ball, the face of your putter is not square to your intended line. And, alignment of the putter face is by far, the greatest influencer of direction. What one wants to achieve is accurately setting the face, and then returning it to impact at the same position.

The first step is to take your grip and square the face behind the ball. If you’re right handed, observe the position of the back of your left hand. Focus on only that hand,  on impact, if it looks the same way it did as address, the face is square. This is a result when your hands work as a team and one doesn’t overpower the other.

The trick is to match the acceleration of both hands and the putter head. Once you master that you’ll be amazed at the results.

If you’re continually battling to perfect squaring your putter head we’d like to recommend our SX1 Putter. The SX1 utilises pointing rather than squaring. ‘Pointing’ is easier and more accurate than ‘squaring’ for most golfers. It assures you that you’re correctly lined up which, in turn, mentally frees you to make a confident putting stroke.
